Product Realization Process:
Hot Forging

The cups (or caps) are produced through the hot forging process which allows to obtain pieces with better qualities in comparison with other processes, avoiding the formation of cracks and tears.

The key factor of hot forging is to be able to work the material in conditions of a greater plasticity thanks to the effect given by the high temperatures. Plasticity is the characteristic of materials such as steel and copper that are able to deform permanently, that is, to maintain the deformation even when the mechanical stress stops acting.

The Advantages of Hot Forging:

• Greater mechanical resistance
The fibers of the material are deformed in a natural way when the steel is heated at a certain temperature, thus allowing a better adaptation to the shape of the product and the obtaining of an higher mechanical resistance to breaking loads and tensions to which the pieces are subjected.

• Structural improvement
The forging improves the structure by refining the grain making it very dense and compact, creating, as consequence, a metal more resistant to traction and abrasion.

• Precise Tolerances
An hot forged product in a closed mold has a thickness precision in every part of the piece, offering many advantages for the final use. This leads to the assembly production of parts with minimum tolerances.
